We are always looking for women that inspire us. Finding a pair of sisters who are equally exceptional is unheard of -- especially these two! Enter The Summers Sisters! Over the years we have shared their unique design sense through tours of their lovely homes & gardens. Peeking into their lives doesn't tell the whole story of their collective talents. There is a friendly competition & sibling rivalry with these two. It creates more extraordinary projects & one-upmanship. They have different tastes, but there is a cross-over effect in how they incorporate acquisitions & bargains. Although they are competitive, they enjoy each others' success in finding coveted items. Some projects come easy, some projects not so much. It's "the not so much" that make a better story & glory! It is not unheard of for either of them to buy a vintage light fixture that needs repair. Not just a superficial scar--we are talking about an entire refurbish job including new wiring. They will travel to every lighting store in the Dallas/Ft Worth area to find these rare vintage screws and elusive bits & pieces. Many times these items are so hard to find they have to rely on their intense networking skills to seek out that one professional who happens to have that certain thing in the bottom of a junk box. Their extraordinary taste begets exceptional style - but this does not come easy. With limitless patience & tenacity, neither can rest until their projects are complete. It is an old school pride in finishing something they did themselves. This is a short lived moment, because the hunt soon compels them to start again. There is always the desire to find the next project & create a new story. They are really one in the same. |
