I built this birdhouse with 1″ x 2″ boards, a little plywood for the bottom.
screen molding (cut with gardening shears) and 1/2″ chicken wire.
Just a hand miter saw will do, with a handful of finishing nails, wood glue
and the attitude that you can do it. It took me about 4 1/2 hours start to
finish in the build. I’m going to add some pics & plans for you to see
the process.
My parakeet, Miss Honey, loves it, I believe you would too. The
key to success is in the planning. The prep work is the hard part to any
project. Building it with your own hands, well, that’s the love.
Miss Honey’s favorite treat is corn, frozen or fresh. She takes it up to her perch and eats the soft middle right out of the kernel.
