Valentine's Day has long been a tradition for my husband to buy some little necklace or earrings to express his love and appreciation for me. As my husband, in the past, had fallen into the trends of the times, I have fine tuned my taste and those poor, little Valentine gifts from the past have sat helpless and isolated in the bottom of my jewelry box.
About a year ago, I decided to combine all those gifts from the past. I condensed some of my favorite items into a great conversation piece. I look down at my charm bracelet and remember different years and different people. It is charming eye-candy of "years-gone-by".
I got the original chain from the thrift store for 99 cents and had lots of little chain lengths to attach all the different fobs and hoo-haws to create something totally new.
So go ahead, dig deep & go down memory lane. Give new life to your long, (purposefully) forgotten jewelry and combine them into something wearable. Let your jewelry begin a new journey.
What does that jewelry think of this? Daylight, lovely daylight again! Oh, and the people who gave you the original gifts? They will recognize their contribution to the "upcycled" bracelet & think you are too clever!
