We are starting to feel our patriotism come forward with the approach 4th of July. We get together with family, eat big, watch fireworks and then, let our patriotic enthusiasm wane. Once the fireworks are over, we go back to our normal lives. Our post-4th of July water cooler talk is about funny family stories, food and the fireworks we saw. This may be the perfect time to find a new way to celebrate all year long! News stories are constantly reporting about the trials of some of our veterans who come home to tough times and a disconnect from the general public. From WWII to today's returning soldiers, perhaps many of us can find that place in our hearts to take action. Volunteerism for veterans is an honorable way to give service to our service members. Below are links to volunteer groups who serve our men and women who need our help. |
